Getting Started

Your first steps with Gantry Financial Suite

Quick Start Guide

You've installed Gantry and entered your license key. Now what? This guide walks you through your first 15 minutes with Gantry to help you get value immediately.

Understanding the Interface

When you open Gantry, you'll see:

  • Navigation sidebar on the left with all available dashboards
  • Main content area showing the currently selected dashboard
  • Header with your company name and quick actions
  • Settings gear for configuration options

Dashboard Navigation

Click any dashboard name in the sidebar to switch views. The currently active dashboard is highlighted. Each dashboard focuses on a specific area of financial analysis.

Date Range Selector

Most dashboards include a date range selector at the top. This controls the time period being analyzed. Common options include:

  • Last 30 days
  • Last 90 days
  • This fiscal year
  • Custom date range

Your First Dashboard: Liquidity

Start with the Liquidity dashboard to understand your cash position:

  1. Click Liquidity in the sidebar
  2. View your current cash balance at the top
  3. See projected cash position based on AR and AP
  4. Review the weekly cash flow forecast chart

Key numbers to note:

  • Total Cash — Your current bank balance
  • Cash Runway — How many weeks you can operate at current burn rate
  • Net Position — Cash plus AR minus AP

Tip: If your cash runway shows less than 4 weeks, the indicator turns red to alert you.

Exploring Profitability

Next, check your Profitability dashboard:

  1. Click P&L in the sidebar
  2. View your overall health score (0-100, higher is better)
  3. Review gross margin percentage
  4. See top revenue movers and detected anomalies

The health score combines multiple factors: gross margin, revenue growth, expense control, and trends. A score above 70 indicates healthy financials.

Checking Employee Utilization

For service businesses, the Billable IQ dashboard is essential:

  1. Click Billable IQ in the sidebar
  2. See overall utilization rate across the company
  3. View department-by-department breakdown
  4. Identify employees who may be under or over-utilized

ℹ️ Note: This dashboard requires Time Tracking to be enabled in NetSuite.

Using the AI Advisor

The AI Advisor lets you ask questions in plain English:

  1. Click Advisor in the sidebar
  2. Type a question like "What's our gross margin this quarter?"
  3. Press Enter or click Send
  4. Review the AI's response with supporting data

Try these starter questions:

  • "What's our current cash position?"
  • "Which customers have the most overdue invoices?"
  • "How does this month's revenue compare to last month?"
  • "What are our top expenses this quarter?"
